Have a Multiuser Chat in your Google Desktop Sidebar
Download the plugin and double-click to install. When prompted add
the plugin to your sidebar -- you will need to have GoogleTalk installed and be
logged in for the plugin to load and work correctly.
To conference chat with your GoogleTalk friends they will also
need to install the GoogleTalk Sidebar Conference plugin.
Update
(05/Apr/2006) : The GoogleTalk Sidebar Conference Chat plugin has been
accepted into the Google Desktop
plugins directory. So now there's a
Google Groups forum for bugs, suggestions, and feature requests.
Invite your GoogleTalk 'friends' into private chatrooms for
conference chats. Only friends accepted on to your buddy list will receive your
messages, so make sure you've invited and accepted all your contacts in
GoogleTalk first!
After you and your friends have installed the plugin, simply
create a new conference and right-click to invite your friends. You can create
as many chatrooms as you like and invite your friends into one or more
conferences.
And now, with Google Desktop Beta 3, you can separate the
GoogleTalk Conference Chat plugin from the sidebar and have a floating
conference chat window on your desktop! Handy.
The GoogleTalk Sidebar Conference Chat plugin requires
GoogleTalk and Google Desktop 3.
